Food Friday

So tomorrow there is another birthday in my office and for some reason I have nominated myself as "Chief Treat Maker" so I saw this recipe on several different blogs recently and HAD to try it out. For the two people who will read this and haven't seen this recipe - I just had to share.

CAKE BALLS

This is super easy and you can make it any kind of variety you like. I've seen yellow cake and chocolate icing and chocolate and chocolate. But being the good Southern girl I am - I LOVE red velvet cake so I thought this would be good. (Jamie - you would LOVE these!)

All you do is bake the cake mix according to directions
When it's still warm - crumble it up in a bowl and mix in a can of frosting (I used cream cheese with the red velvet!)
I used this handy little scooper from Pampered chef to scoop balls
Melt almond bark (either vanilla or chocolate - depending on your cake) and dip balls in the bark. You could use toothpicks or a fork - but I used this egg separator and it worked GREAT!
And voila - one of the yummiest things you will ever taste!!! (I guess I'm on a mission right now to make me and my office extremely fat!) ha!

and if you think those cake balls look sweet - you should take a look at this:
I love this little dog so much!

Well - I wasn't too surprised by who went home on AI - but I think it should have been "crazy hair" - and what was going on with her hair tonight?
Who watches Lost? It is so good this season but there is so much going on that I have questions on.

We are going to see Scott's parents this weekend so I will be away from the computer. I'm sure I'll do an update Sunday night. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!!!

So you're going to LA this weekend, huh? Have fun...maybe you can even eat at The Rails or at Backyard BBQ and think of me!

I'm confused after watching LOST too. What's her baby's name? I could have sworn she said Aaron at the end. Oh, I'm so confused.

Oh my gosh. Those cake balls--I have no words. I am getting off the computer right now to figure out an occasion to make these.

Y'all have a fun and safe weekend!

Those cake balls looks very good!

Vonda and I just started watching LOST this past fall. I borrowed season 1 from a friend at work and was hooked. We watched the first 3 seasons and could not wait for season 4 to start! We love it! It is almost all consuming, from podcasts to FIND815.COM to Crack Pot Theories from Jay and Jack. It is a little hard to follow at times but Vonda nailed the 'Aaron' bit! I'm so proud of her. So now we know 5 of the Oceanic 6. Who do you think is number 6?

AI went as expected for me.

Have a good weekend at Scott's folks. We'll miss y'all in ss class.

I was going to make those this weekend too! I thought about red velvet but since I ate and entire red velvet cake last weekend I'm kind of burned out. I'm thinking spice cake or just a yellow cake. Oh the decisions!
LOST STRESSES ME OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a headache after I watch it.
That was a sweet comment you left on my blog! You're the best!

I'm not a red velvet fan, but those look yummy! My mom would love those! You have the best recipes. I was happy with AI's result. I like the girl with crazy hair. Let me rephrase that... I think the girl with crazy hair can really sing (I don't like her hair).

Yum! The cake balls are so delicious. I made them for the fiance for Valentines Day! My sister made them with carrot cake and cream cheese frosting and said they were good too. Have you tried the oreo cookie ones? I found it on Bakerella. The cake ones are still my fav. I want to try them with lemon cake and white frosting. Love you blog! I think Ive said that before, but I love it!

Those cake balls sound delics! Have a great weekend. You are still on my prayer list.

So i secretly read your blog. I think we have alot of mutual friends. REgardless you can make those balls with oreos aka the evil cookies(as my mom and i fondly call them). They are called oreo balls and are delicious! (i think you use cream cheese in that recipe)
I love Lost and I am so confused right now...she had Claire's son in the future at the end of the show last night or it appeared to be him! AI I wanted funky hair girl gone too...I am not liking her rock style.

I've never thought about using an egg separator for dipping something in chocolate - so smart!! Can't wait to try it.

I can see that your co-workers love you...you are always the gal that brings the goodies. There's nothing wrong with being the office favorite. Ha!!! And Dawson loves his life w/his daddy Scott. Its wonderful when people love their pets they are helpless unless their owners take care of them. I wrote down the cake balls recpie, can't wait to make them. They look so yummy....love the recpie's

Delurking, I have been reading for about 6 weeks. You are such a sweet girl. Anyway, I don't think that I have ever seen a red velvet cake mix in Michigan. And I cook. Alot. This recipe looks really good...thanks for sharing. (I told my husband about your chicken one you did for valentines day, he thought it sounded delicious)

I wanted Danny to go home... I cannot tolerate seeing too much more of him. Thankfully we DVR and can FF thru him if my stomach turns too much.
The only girl I REALLY wanted to go home was Amy Davis. She was just plain awful.
I watch Lost, and you just reminded me I have an episode waiting for me...
