Quit Playing Games with my Heart

For the last few weeks - I've been having off and on again chest pains (mostly brought on my stress and anxiety). I'm just a high strung person and it doesn't take much to cause me stress.
But last night and this morning - the chest pains seemed pretty bad and my left arm started hurting so I was convinced (especially after inputting my symptons into web md) that I was having a heart attack.
I started telling Scott last night that if I had a heart attack and died I wanted him to get re-married. You just never know. So finally after work today - I was still having pains so I decided to go to this clinic we have in town. They are open late and take my insurance and it's not like going to the emergency room.
The doctor was super nice and he asked me where I was from and knew several people that were in my high school class. He went to med school with my junior year prom date. He reassured me that it was SUPER rare for a healthy young woman to have a heart attack. I had an issue a couple of years ago and had to take Nexium for a while and he had me do a test or two and decided it was probably the same issue just triggered by stress.
So I"m going to try to work on relaxing and I guess Scott won't need to find a new wife. :-)

P.S. Don't use web md if you can avoid it - you will be convinced you are dying before you are done.

Kelly--obviously I'm SO glad you're okay! But I couldn't keep from laughing about the part about Scott getting a new wife. I hope you can relax and feel better. jlg

Ha, ha!!! I know what you mean about the web MD!! I once tried to find a rash I had and was convinced I had an incurrable, rare form of African skin cancer. It turned out to be ring worm! : ) Next tome I weeded the flower bed, I wore LONG jeans!!

Hi Kelly! Thanks for your comment on my blog. I came over to check your site and I'm so glad I did. The whole web MD thing cracked me up because I am so guilty of this. It is especially bad when I look up things for my son Park and then try and convince his Pedi. of my diagnosis! The Dr. and nurse exchange that knowing "She's a first time Mom" glance and I shrink an inch or two:)

I hope you start feeling better soon!

I hope you feel better soon! I know what you mean about web md. I use it whenever we have the slightest problem. Whenever we have to go to the doctor here, I have to take my dictionary with me. During our physical examinations for our adoption paperwork, I showed the doctor a strange bump on my leg. She replied, "I have one of those too on my stomach. Do you want to feel it?" And at that point she raised her shirt, so I felt obligated to feel it. Yep. Same. Anyway, with web md, I'm always dead in a couple of months.

I really don't know how I found your blog; but I do love reading it. I love this story... Not only have I thought I was dieing many times (according to WebMD); but I have also tried to convince my husband that he was too. Hope you start to feel better soon!

Thanks so much... I actually took them myself; but I am totally amateur. I just have some "good luck" here and there! :)

I'm so glad you found my blog! I've loved looking through your last couple of posts. I can totally relate with thinking every little symptom means your probably going to die. I love that you had a talk with your husband about finding a new wife...don't know if I could do that!

Glad you're OK! We missed you at choir tonight--we could have put you on the prayer list for your heart attack if I'd known in time :)

Oh Kelly...are we long lost sisters? Web MD and I got to be very close friends at the beginning of the year. First it told me I was pregnant (obviously wrong),then I had a parasite growing in my stomach (that made me want to die),or I had ulcers....all which were false. After months of not so fun tests, my doctor says that I have anxiety...so where was that on Web MD???

We've also had the "if I die, you should remarry" conversation. It usually consists of me telling him how important it would be and then crying at the thought of it!!
