I got asked to be on the church hostess committee recently and I'm beyond thrilled. I will be able to serve the church in the area that I enjoy most - cooking, decorating, organizing and serving. I'm so blessed to have a wonderful church to be apart of and I'm so excited that God gives me ways to be used.
Yesterday was my mam-ma's birthday. She went to heaven earlier this year and I miss her so much but I know that when I cook or entertain or do things for others - it is coming naturally down the line from her. My mother is a wonderful cook and loves to have people over for dinner or parties and likes to do for others and she got that from my mam-ma. They are two Godly women who are also wonderful wives and mothers and I hope to be more and more like them. Above is my mam-ma on Christmas day soon before she passed away and my brother, mom, Aunt Linda and me.
My mam-ma was the original "hostess with the mostest".

Missions

My dad left today for Romania for 10 days. I think he'll be there about 4 a.m. tomorrow or something like that. He was flying from Memphis to Amsterdam today. I hope he has a great trip. That's him on the 4 wheeler with Dawson.
My friend Kandi is in China this week also on a mission trip with her church. That's her and her pretty family above.
If you read this - please pray for their safety and that they would get the opportunity to lead people to the Lord.
I'm so thankful for the people in my life who are called and willing to go anywhere for the cause of Christ.

Branson

Well - we had a fun birthday day yesterday in Branson. We shopped at the Outlet mall and found several bargains. Scott got 5 dress shirts and a pair of pants and I got several tops and we only spent about $150. Got to love that! I was in the dressing room at Banana Republic and these 2 girls were talking cause they apparently ran into each other and went to school together and then one of them said "I love to see Ouachita people". I was so excited. I said "I went there." One girl was an E and one was an MK. Small world! :-)
After we shopped - we hit up Cold Stone Creamery! YUM! We split a birthday cake remix. (In honor of the b-day boy). We took some pics and when we were leaving these 2 old women were outside and they said "you must be newlyweds." I smiled and said no but secretly it made me so happy that to outsiders we still seem like we might be on our honeymoon.
We had plans to eat at this restuaurant I found on-line that was supposed to have this great view of the lake. Well - we drove by there around 4 just to check it out and it didn't look too great and the view was better out our own living room window than that restuarant. So we decided just to come on home and we ate at Copelands instead. It was delicious of course. We ran into the Sweets and talked to them a while.
Today was church and it was a great morning. My 4 year olds were fun, it was the chest of Joaz Sunday and we put in our committment cards, and we had a great SS class on witnessing - which is the emphasis for this month and something I definetly need to work on.
Now I'm watching George Mason beat UConn and I think it's hilarious. There are about to be no #1 seeds in the tourney. That is what makes march madness so great!

Scott Stamps : Then and Now
Tomorrow Scott is turning the big 3-0. I know, I know - I was a cradle robber. I wanted to throw him a big suprise party but just never could get it planned out and I knew he wouldn't like that and then I was hoping to whisk him away on a suprise weekend trip to Chicago or somewhere like that - but since we are trying to plan a big trip for May - i hated to spend the money. So we are headed for a day trip to Branson. It should be fun. We'll hit the outlet malls and then go to dinner at a place I found on-line. Hopefully it will turn out good.
We have been together since he was 24. That's hard to believe! Six years! :-)
Happy Birthday my sweet husband! I love you! You're still cool at 30!

American Idol
Tonight was the big TV night for the Stamps - American Idol and Amazing Race. So good!
Mandisa and Chris did awesome tonight. I voted for both of them after the show. Really I think everyone did good but Bucky. And I'm not too big on Ace. And even thought chicken little is nerdy - he DOES have a good voice. He won't win.
MoJo continued to do pretty well tonight on AR. And yeay for Joseph for representing the hogs with his razorback shirt! :-)
Oh and did you see Travis Cottrell sitting on the front row at AI tonight with his "vote for mandisa" shirt. So fun! I had to call Laurie immediately!

March Madness
I LOVE March Madness. I think I'm one of the only girls I know who goes crazy over march madness (besides my friend Hillary) but I love almost nothing as much as I love March Madness. I think it all goes back to about junior high when my dad got me hooked. I spent a lot of spring breaks watching tons of basketball. My favorite days are the first 2 - I love watching games, updating scores, looking at my bracket, comparing it to everyone else's. As of Sat morning I was winning both my work and the SS guys pool. I have slipped to 2nd place after today but I still feel like victory could be mine. I just love all the close games and the upsets!
So that was pretty much our weekend. A bunch of basketball and a couple of movies and mostly laying on the couches on this cold, gray March weekend. I love it! I did manage to have breakfast with Hillary and Laurie (and little Emily) on Sat morning followed by a little visit to a piece of heaven I like to call T J Maxx. :-)
Back to work tomorrow but spring is close!!! (although I still think the working world deserves a spring break)
