Oklahoma.... where the toll booths never seem to end!

Elizabeth, Laurie, Julie and me at the conference this morning (after NO sleep)

Friday afternoon - Me and 3 friends left for Oklahoma City to attend a Beth Moore conference. We had such a good time! We got there late in the afternoon after driving through pouring rain and giving our last dime to OK roads at the hundred of toll booths and nearly forgetting our tickets and/or wallets. We got checked in and headed over to the conference. It was, of course, wonderful. The music was great and Beth spoke on trust - and why it is so hard to let go and trust God - especially on "this thing" that we each are dealing with. Sometimes it's just like it's you and her in the room and no one else - because she is speaking directly to you.
After the conference we headed over to Bricktown (which is downtown OKC). It's SUCH a neat area - all these neat restaurants with a river running down town and they had a lot of live music. We sat outside and had a small meal. Then we went back to the room and talked and laughed so hard until about 2 a.m.
This morning was an adventure - 4 prissy girls with one bathroom and then we blew a fuse and had to wait to get our power turned on. (We found out later we weren't the only ones). This morning was great once again. I got to see my mom for a few minutes! Elizabeth left early to go to a wedding so Julie, Laurie and I ate at sphagetti warehouse (college flashbacks) and then headed home. We got stuck in a lot of traffic and had to make a lot of bathroom stops so the drive home seemed to take forever but we talked a lot and just had a great time.
It's so good to have such wonderful Christian girlfriends. Every woman needs a lot of girls to be able to laugh and share with. I'm ready to go again next year. Posted by Picasa

Weekend

I'm so excited because this weekend I'm going to Oklahoma City with 3 of my friends to a Beth Moore Conference. I know it will be really good and I can't wait. I'm also excited to just spend time with 3 fun girls! My mom is going to be there with a bunch of women from their church so hopefully I can meet up with her.

Pray for my dad. He's leaving in the morning to go to Nicauraga for a week to train pastors there. Pray that he has safe travels. I know he's in good hands!

Hair Cut!

The most exciting thing happening at the Stamps house this week is that Dawson got a haircut! He went to Doggie day care today and got groomed. He did so good that on the way home we stopped by Sonic and he got a junior burger! :-) Posted by Picasa

Birthdays

Yesterday I went to Little Rock for the day to see my friends Kandi and Lance and their girls. Annie was having her 2 year old birthday party. Next Saturday is Lowrey's 3 year old birthday. I haven't seen the girls in almost a year - I can't believe how big they have gotten and Lowrey is such a talker now. They are both so cute. I was so glad to see them and their parents. I wish we lived closer so I saw them more often.
I came back and we went to our favorite place - Doe's - with some of our favorite people - Brian, Isabel and Dominique for Brian's birthday/father's day meal. We always have a good time with them. Then we hit up Barnes and Noble for a while and then came home. It was a great day! Posted by Picasa

Hillary

Posted by Picasa Monday night - Laurie, Hillary and I went out to eat at Johnny Carinos to have a late celebration for Hillary's 26th birthday! Her b-day was May 27 but she was at the beach that week so we just now got to celebrate. Emily came too - she looked so cute and was in a very happy mood. She smiled the whole time. She just likes to have "girl time" too! We had a great time. Hillary is such a good friend - I met her 5 years ago and I'm so blessed to have her as a friend!

Martin Reunion

Scott and I at the reunion
Poppie, Grandma and the grandkids minus one (Kenneth, Michelle, me, Molly and Jackson)
Some of the girls in the family (My aunt Kathy, my cousinMichelle and her son Jacob (he got in with the girls), my cousin Molly and Michelle's daughter Emily)

Scott and I went to Ash Flat, AR today for the Martin family reunion (my dad's side of the family). My grandpa and his 7 brothers and sisters and their families try to get together once a year for a reunion. It's always good to see my family members that I only see very rarely. My cousins Michelle and Kenneth were there with their kids and it's hard to believe how big they are getting. And my "little" cousins Molly and Jackson are so grown up. I remember when they were born. Posted by Picasa

Shareholders

Today was the annual Wal-Mart Shareholders meeting. It was my 10th year to go. And pretty much the normal speeches. Taylor Hicks was there and sang 2 songs and played the harmonica. That was pretty much the highlight. Beyonce also performed.
They also had an hour long Broadway musical about Wal-mart that kicked off the meeting. I'm not so sure NYC will be calling them anytime soon.
TGIF!
